Stop Motion

stop motion flower

originally planned to use for nhs project but ran out of time to remove backgrounds in each frame.

will use for a future project. Here is the raw video for now, on cardboard background.

ran into difficulty removing background efficiently as the flower and card colour were too similar.

wire framing, twisted with drill. about a metre long. moulded together with putty. screws on feet to screw figure onto as scene.

next step, fill out mass, either with two pieces of foam sandwiching the wire body, and then cutting into. or constructive sculpting methods like sewing stuffed body suit and muscles, or felt

I really enjoyed doing this. It was quick and fun. I want to continue to do practice whips that aren’t too detailed. I would like to work on this though.

Impovements:

Boil on keyframe where arm is extended

Lower framerate

maybe abandon black line if using translucent fill

Found image, converted to greyscale and then to black and white contrast in levels

one object chosen from image, selected with mask. made custom shape by selecting black or white and making path from selected colour, then defining custom shape.
